Cervico-Vestibular & Headaches

Headache, Migraine and Tension Physical Therapy Wake Forest NC

Danielle did wonders for me when I suffered from vestibular migraines, getting my eyes, legs and brain to retrain so I wasn’t dizzy when overstimulated. After a long bout of vertigo, it’s nice to feel steady again! I highly recommend her for vestibular therapy as a specialty among other PT training. She is patient, thorough, caring and motivating.

Do you have sensitivity to cold or even sensitivity while wearing a necklace?

You could have cutaneous allodynia and this has been proposed to be a risk factor for chronic migraine. Since research shows 70% of migraine patients have neck pain, the pain in your neck could be a reason for this sensitivity.

Headaches are one of the most common afflictions, with more than 90% of adults experiencing headaches at some point in their life. There are many different presentations of headaches, including debilitating migraines with nausea and vomiting, tension headaches, cluster headaches and stress related headaches.

At PhysioFit of North Carolina, our team aims to find exactly what causes your headache and provide treatment options. The pain you actually feel in your face, eyes, jaw or temple (to name a few spots) is the site of the pain, and more often than not, the source of the pain lies elsewhere. Based on information gained from our detailed examination, our physical therapists will illustrate clearly to you what individual structures are causing your headache by actively changing the quality of your pain there and then during the treatment.

Harrison and Danielle are dedicated hands-on manual and vestibular therapists, who passionately seek good outcomes.  We aim to provide you with the knowledge to help you with your condition, and provide honest and effective advice, management and treatment.

We have a unique approach of combining manual therapies to the jaw, face and neck with vestibular therapy  to the eyes and balance systems & canalith repositioning manuevers to the inner ear.  The combined approach is unique to our specialities that you cannot find anywhere else in the Triangle.  Our goal is to maximize each individual’s progress toward an active pain-free lifestyle.
